  15.           The SSSSaaaammmmbbbbaaaa software suite is a collection of programs that
  16.           implements the SMB protocol for UNIX systems. This protocol
  17.           is sometimes also referred to as the LanManager or Netbios
  18.           protocol.

  21.           The Samba suite is made up of several components. Each
  22.           component is described in a separate manual page. It is
  23.           strongly recommended that you read the documentation that
  24.           comes with Samba and the manual pages of those components
  25.           that you use. If the manual pages aren't clear enough then
  26.           please send me a patch!

  28.           The ssssmmmmbbbbdddd(8) daemon provides the file and print services to
  29.           SMB clients, such as Windows for Workgroups, Windows NT or
  30.           LanManager. The configuration file for this daemon is
  31.           described in ssssmmmmbbbb....ccccoooonnnnffff(5).

  33.           The nnnnmmmmbbbbdddd(8) daemon provides Netbios nameserving and browsing
  34.           support. It can also be run interactively to query other
  35.           name service daemons.

  37.           The ssssmmmmbbbbcccclllliiiieeeennnntttt(1) program implements a simple ftp-like
  38.           client. This is useful for accessing SMB shares on other
  39.           compatible servers (such as WfWg), and can also be used to
  40.           allow a UNIX box to print to a printer attached to any SMB
  41.           server (such as a PC running WfWg).

  43.           The tttteeeessssttttppppaaaarrrrmmmm(1) utility allows you to test your ssssmmmmbbbb....ccccoooonnnnffff(5)
  44.           configuration file.

  46.           The ssssmmmmbbbbssssttttaaaattttuuuussss(1) utility allows you to tell who is currently
  47.           using the ssssmmmmbbbbdddd(8) server.

  50.           The Samba software suite is licensed under the Gnu Public
  51.           License. A copy of that license should have come with the
  52.           package. You are encouraged to distribute copies of the
  53.           Samba suite, but please keep it intact.

  56.           anonymous ftp from samba.anu.edu.au in the directory
  57.           pub/samba/. It is also available on several mirror sites
  58.           worldwide.
